When you click on any of those bubbles, HyperDock either brings that window into focus or restores it to its normal window size if it’s minimized. These are called bubbles, and each bubble represents a single window. For instance, you can hover your mouse over an icon on the Dock and get a preview of all the open windows of that program. It is a preference pane that offers several handy features to your Dock. HyperDock is a window management application that brings additional functionalities to your Mac’s Dock. That’s why applications like HyperDock are a huge welcome. It is the Mac equivalent of the Windows Taskbar.īut just like the Taskbar, there’s only so much you can do with the Dock. The Dock also contains important macOS features, such as the System Preferences icon, the Launchpad, and iTunes. This enables the user to quickly launch the app that they need or locate the file they are looking for. The Dock allows you to quickly access the Finder, the Trash, your favorite apps, the important files and documents, as well as the apps that are currently running.īy default, most built-in macOS apps can be quickly launched using the shortcut created on the Dock. It looks like a small panel that runs along the edge of the screen, usually located at the bottom of the Desktop by default. ![]() I appreciate any advice you may have. When you turn on your Mac, one of the first things you see on the Desktop is the Dock. It only happens about once out of 4 or 5 dozen clicks, but that works out to dozens of times each day and I find it very disruptive. I'd also be interested in learning the action which causes this to happen so I can stop doing it. I very, very, VERY much want to turn this feature off but I don't know what it is called and therefore unable to find it in the system preferences. This just happened to me when working with excel and inDesign where the excel window jumped to the new location as I tried to select a cell. The piece of menu bar I had clicked on to bring the window forward, had become sticky to the cursor and transported that spot to my next click location. I click on the visible menu bar, which brings the window to the foreground, I then move my cursor to the part of the page I want to work then click – rather than placing the cursor in that location, the entire window moves. When I have multiple windows open (sometimes all the same program, sometimes a mix of programs) and I want to use a window in the background for which I can only see the very top of it's menu bar showing from behind the foreground windows. I've never been able to determine how to make this happen, it only happens by accident. I'm experiencing a problem I can not understand where windows stick to the cursor and move when I don't want them to move. I'm also updating to a 2021 M1 MacBook Pro from a 2009 MacBook Pro. Window sticks to cursor problem I'm new to Monterey having updated from 10.11 and skipping several version between. You might argue that Apple should include this functionality as part of MacOS - even Windows has done this for quite a while! Then again, it's nice to see them not killing off small vendors like the HyperDock team, so. Hurray for HyperDock!! But, really, this should be emblazoned all over their website because they are selling this app but don't seem to be responding to e-mails or posting anything useful, and this is an app that many (including myself) rely on massively, if only to manage their zillions of browser windows!! :) Give it a couple of seconds, then hover over an app that has multiple windows, and rejoice as you see the previews once again. Go back to the Security & Privacy -> Accessibility pane againĬlick the lock and enter your password againĬlick the box by HyperDock so it's ticked You should get a popup saying that HyperDock wants to control your computer - click Allow Go to the Security & Privacy pane and click Accessibility in the left hand list if it isn't already selectedĬlick the padlock to allow changes - enter password when promptedĬlick HyperDock in the right hand list, then click the "-" below the list to remove HyperDock from the listĬlick the home button (the on with the 12 dots in it) Make sure you have the latest version of HyperDock (1.8) ![]() Here is the one that seems to have success for everyone: I've seen many many threads on this all over them interwebs! Many of the fixes seem to be hit & miss, working for some but not for others.
